My Story
I am the mother of two amazing men and lifelong eater of delicious things!
My father, "Gaines", used to make loud yummy noises when he ate and was always planning his next meal. He taught me to love a good pretzel and to be an effective manager, two things that have served me well in my 3 decade career.
I love a creative menu, top notch service, and attention to detail. I’m devoted to honest hospitality and what it takes to make an experience not only successful but memorable.
My two amazing men have finally flown the nest and with great support from my partner, family and friends, I have started Gaines Consulting to bring my passions to practice in my community and to hopefully share a meal or two with some new friends.
My Expertise
I’ve worked across nearly every facet of hospitality throughout my career. I've washed my fair share of dishes, run major donor events, wrangled service staff and volunteers, and even produced and voiced radio ads!
In full-service event planning for a high-end catering company, I focused on maximizing the guest experience within a budget while building strong local vendor relationships and gaining insight into successful nonprofit events.
From fine dining to fast casual my restaurant experience includes staffing solutions, establishing SOP's, inventory control, menu writing, and business development through community outreach and marketing strategies.
My biggest strength is the network of relationships I’ve built over decades in the industry and the experience I can draw from across events, restaurants, operations, and community engagement.
My Approach
Let's begin by getting to know each other on both a professional and personal level, then assessing exactly what the needs are based on input and my own observations. From there, I'll set some general parameters for how to tackle the issue, project, or event. Those are always open for review and revision throughout the process to make sure they’re working well for everyone involved.
There will always be follow-up, but my intention is to give you what you need to move forward and branch out on your own. I want my clients to feel more confident in their organization’s capabilities, with the right people in the right places and a clear path forward.
